Halo 5: Guardians generates £7.7 million in UK day one sales

Halo 5: Guardians grossed £7.7 million in the UK, Microsoft has announced.

The UK debut of the latest James Bond flick, Spectre, made £6.3 million, Microsoft said in comparison.

GTA V reported £65m in revenue on day one, so Halo isn't exactly the biggest seller, however Microsoft is sure to be pleased with the impact it did make, despite it not being the fastest selling game in the series to date.

Let's have a comparison halo -£40 , ticket to see spectre -£8 more if you have the fancy seats ,,,,,,, so really more people went to see spectre than bought halo if you think about it

@lethal, the day one GTA v stats are based on day one, so just PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Ps4, Xbox one and PC came over a year later. Supposedly this was one of the worst Halo launches, if you presume it was 40 quid and 7million, that's only 175k copies. That's pretty low, mario kart 8(wii u) sold over 300k copies on day one, just in Japan, never mind other regions and smash bros got in over 500k on release day. And finally, the last of us ps4 edition sold over 1.5 million on the release day world-wide. So yeah, the halo laugh seems pretty small

Launch* not laugh - on my iPad! Supposedly the single player is terrible as well, only 3 chapters as master chief, the others as another guy. Then they stripped out the split screen with that spencer guy saying it was because older people find it hard to have friends round or something, that's so stupid. Ah well, guess halo is just another game the devs know people mainly buy for multiplayer so they don't care about making the single player any good - shame
