PlayStation has a press conference on Saturday, December 5 at 6PM

Are you ready for more announcements from the PlayStation team? Well, get ready because Sony is holding a press conference on Saturday, December 5 at 6PM UK time.

The press conference forms part of the PlayStation Experience, an event for fans which took place at the same time last year and proved such a huge success that Sony decided to do it again this year.

Last year's press conference was full of fan pleasing announcements such as news of a Western release for Yakuza 5, the first look at Uncharted 4 and Street Fighter V and trailers for hugely anticipated games such as No Man's Sky and Star Wars Battlefront.

This year we expect a focus on PlayStation VR, however we also expect some surprise announcements (the ability to change your PSN name perhaps, or the official announcement of backwards compatibility for PS2 games on PS4 and of course, news of what Studio Santa Monica are up to).

There's likely to be plenty to talk about, which is why we'll bring you all the news during and after the press conference.

Are you excited to see what Sony will be talking about.

personally, I think they will tell people about the PS2 stuff - but I doubt it is backwards compatibility (as in people using their own disks) - I recon it will be the fact they are now providing games you can buy on your PS4 that have trophies and better graphics. I doubt they will do it free. Also the FF7 with trophies should be announced to download at the end of the show (hopefully) and FF8/9 if they simply use the emulation wrap.

@ turniplord, I agree I think playstation will charge for the ps2 games. I've seen a lot of people on YouTube saying they won't and we'll be able to play from our disc's but if playstation are already charging for playstation now, then they'll do the same for this

yeah, I don't see why they would do it free - they say its because 'they have to because xbox do BC now' - MS offer about 20 decentish games and 80+ arcade / iffy games - so Sony has nothing to worry about. What i'm hoping for it that all the PS2 and PS1 games we bought digitally in the past on PSP/Vita and PS3 come as free downloads as we already bought the digital versions - or at least a small upgrade fee. That would be good.
