It'll come as no surprise, but FIFA 16 was the best selling game of 2015 in the UK, far outpacing sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront.
Trade magazine/website, MCV reports that EA's title was the number one title despite competition from those mentioned above, although it does add that Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Bethesda’s Fallout 4 and Star Wars: Battlefront all reached 1 million sales by the end of the year.
That was the good news, as according to the latest figures from GfK Chart-Track, while PS4 and Xbox One software sales rose sharply for the year, big declines on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U game sales means physical sales were actually done compared to last year.
With 2016 looking like it will be rather stellar for new releases on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the possible release of Nintendo NX, we expect sales will be on the up once more by this time next year.
Are you happy to see these four games flying the flag as the most popular of the year?
