Final Fantasy Explorers comes to 3DS on January 29

Final Fantasy Explorers arrives for Nintendo 3DS on January 29, seeing you take control of a squad of explorers who are tasked with collecting pieces of the Grand Crystal to power the planet.

During the game, players are based on an island featuring various locations, which areas beyond the island accessible on foot. The main goal is to collect crystals scattered across the world, in what is a mainly narratively driven Final Fantasy series.

Combat includes fights against classic Final Fantasy enemies and summons including Ifrit and Bahamut. There are four character slots available; the three ally slots can be filled with other human players or with monsters previously defeated in battle. You can assign character jobs too, with options including the White Mage, Black Mage, Monk, Paladin and Dragoon among others. There are also other character jobs which are exclusive to Final Fantasy Explorers.

According to the developer, there are over five hundred different pieces of equipment available for creation from material that is either found on the field or won in combat. Characters can use a maximum of eight skills in battle and can also learn other skills for certain jobs which can be used with other jobs when mastered.

Multiplayer functionality is enabled through the Nintendo 3DS’s wireless communication functions.

Is this a game which interests you?

This is one of the games i've been waiting for - you have it pretty cheap (at 22.36 for me) which beats the gameseek email claiming they are the cheapest - they aren't! But, this game is the type I would get digitally, same as Bravely Second - Nintendo opened pre-orders on this but I ignored because big RPGs are much easier when they are just installed on the device to pick up and play. I thought this was the same as world of FF, but thats a different game on PS4 and Vita - so many FF games!
