Swiss retailer lists PlayStation VR for a June 30 release at a price of £350

A Swiss retailer has listed PlayStation VR for a June 30 release, with a price of around £350.

The price and date are likely a placeholder, however both seem to meet the expectations of the internet and our own expectations of the headset launching around the same price that the PS4 did.

The date also seems quite likely, with Sony yet to announce a date but promising we will get the headset in the first half of the year. It also feels like a good date for No Man's Sky to launch, which itself is expected to be VR compatible.

We'd be quite happy with a price of around £350, especially if it came bundled with No Man's Sky and perhaps a few tech demos to play around with too.

What do you think?

was abit shocked at price to start with. but then remembered how much OR was gonna be. will all depend on the games released for it if to get it really. PS4 Eye cam for example. not many games for that really..

compared to the $599 and $1500 of the Pc versions, £350 isn't bad. But, if there is no camera then thats another 40-50£ on top of that price

That is better than I expected. I already have the camera. What concerns me is will I get headaches and tired/sore eyes like I get on my 3D TV which deters me from using the feature as often as I'd like to.

I think ill wait for a drop in price ,not sure how they can justify the price of a PS 4 on launch for an add on .Seems the PS4 is an add on to this . I know people will say it costs xxx to develop which i understand but an add on which is ultimatley what it is should never cost more than the console imo .

I'm kinda looking forward to VR but I'm not sure if I sohuld get the Oculus rift or HTC vive, I don't think VR is really worth investing in on console due to the fact that they are vastly underpowered, I mean Nvidia's minimum recommendation for VR is a GTX970 which is a lot more powerful the the PS4's GPU.

@Danny - true, but he rift does nothing - all the computing and processing is done via the PC. From what I remember, the PSVR has like a separate unit that sits next to the PS4 that helps it with the processing, so technically it should be about the same. It will probably be 1080i/720p though, I don't see it being 1080p. But it is a cheaper version of VR as the HTC is going to be more than the Rift supposedly - about $1.5k - I probably wont get this, just because I have a 3D TV and the PS4 era has totally forgot they exist with only a handful of games supporting it so I don't see VR lasting that long. It would be nice if all VR games also had 3DTV support as well by default as technically its the same minus the moving of the head and what not
