This War of Mine: The Little Ones Review

Usually when you play a game based on war, you're the one firing the bullets, the one going in to stop the evil dictator from taking over the world, mowing down any enemies in your path without thinking about the consequences. But imagine there was a game where you don't play as those taking part in the war, imagine you were playing as the victims. Enter This War is Mine.

This War is Mine is a game based on the events of the 1992–96 Siege of Sarajevo during the Bosnian War. Your role is to control a group of survivors and help them through the days following the destruction. They need food, beds and anything else you can imagine that you'd need to survive following a war. Of course it's dangerous outside, during the day there are snipers everywhere, so at this time it's about staying in doors and surviving, doing what you can to keep both the adults and children happy through the darkest of times. Surviving isn't easy when there are others out to look after themselves, but if you go about things in the right manner, you might just make it through.

When darkness falls it's time for the real danger to begin. At night it's time to scavenge, heading out to bombed schools, petrol stations, supermarkets and more, all with the aim of trying to find supplies to get through the next day. There are dangers here as others are out to protect their property, some will trade with you, while others will chase you away, threatening you to never return.

This War is Mine is a gripping title and offers something quite different from your usual type of war game. We discuss the decisions you'll have to make and just what it feels like to play in our review below, so please watch and enjoy!
