Song of the Deep announced by Insomniac

Insomniac Games next title is called Song of the Deep and it looks a little different from what we'd normally see from the developer.

The game, which will oddly be published by retailer Gamestop and is therefore retail exclusive to those stores, is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, although it will also be available digitally for everyone, so you can always buy your credit from ShopTo and grab it that way.

Apparently it is modelled after games like Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and has the look of a smaller indie title, rather than the sort of larger budget game you would expect from the studio.

The new project finds a girl named Merryn on a quest to find the whereabouts of her missing fishermen father. To track him down, she sets out from her home in the western Irish seaside of County Clare, and builds a submarine in order to head deep into the Atlantic.

Song of the Deep includes combat against mythical sea creatures and ancient automatons, as well as puzzle solving. There will be some sort of progression system involved too.

Check out the first trailer below.

Wonder if it will have GameStop adds in there or if it will be cheaper getting it from them. Could be the next SneakKing :)
