Battlefront ships 13 million, Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect to arrive before April 2017

EA revealed quite a lot of information during its financial call last night, starting with the fact the Star Wars Battlefront shipped 13 million units since launch.

The company had expected to sell 9-10 million units of the game before the end of March 2016, however it seems that this total will be easily surpassed.

"We actually had a very strong sell-through during [Q3] as well as sell-in and there are some accounts obviously that are replenishing in there, as they get through their January timeframe," said CFO Blake Jorgensen.

"We're very comfortable with where the channel inventory is now."

As for future games, well it seems that EA has put a tentative Q3/Q4 release window on Mass Effect Andromeda and Titanfall 2, with both set to arrive before March 31, 2017.

"We will introduce breakthrough games from some of our biggest and most popular franchises. In Q1, we'll begin with the creative and innovative Mirror's Edge Catalyst from DICE launching in May. A great line-up of EA SPORTS titles are in development for next year, and we look forward to sharing more about these new experiences in the months ahead," said EA CEO Andrew Wilson.

"An all-new Battlefield game from DICE will arrive in time for the holidays, we're excited to have a new Titanfall experience coming from our friends at Respawn and of course, Mass Effect Andromeda from the team at BioWare will launch later in the fiscal year."

Blake Jorgensen later added some further information on the timing of Titanfall and Mass Effect.

"You should assume that a Battlefield would come typically in the third quarter when we normally have it, we're not yet announcing when Titanfall or Mass Effect Andromeda will come, but you should assume that's in the back half of the year as well because our second quarter is so dominated by our sports titles."

As far as Star Wars goes, Wilson said that "More great content is on the way for players" of all current EA Star Wars titles and also added that "new Star Wars titles for multiple platforms are in development across the company."
