Hitman Go Review

Hitman Go is out now on PS4, PS Vita and PC, bringing Square's Android and iOS title to the big screen. Usually games, or at least indies, tend to go the other way, making their debut on console before going for the big bucks of mobile, so it's odd to see Square make this jump.

The Definitive Edition of Hitman Go is a pretty decent puzzler, although the improvements mainly add console stables such as Trophies, Cross-Buy, Cross-Play and of course, better graphics. Everything that was included on the mobile version, including all add-ons and updates is present here, meaning that there are no extra costs involved.

As you would expect, during the game you control Agent 47, moving one node at a time on a set grid of possible paths as you aim to escape the level, with or without completing extra objectives such as finding the briefcase, completing the level in a certain amount of moves or in come cases having to take out a target. It feels very much like the Hitman version of chess, with the game adding in new features and ways to play the further you progress into the game, be that trap doors, bushes to hide in, a change of clothes to get you past certain enemies or even one shot weapons.

+ Interesting concept
+ Can be quite challenging

- Some puzzles feel like they can only be solved one way
