PlayStation TV has been discontinued in Europe and the U.S

Sony has confirmed that has discontinued PlayStation TV in both Europe and the U.S.

"PlayStation TV shipments were terminated at the end of 2015 in SCEA and SCEE," the spokesperson told Gamespot. "Shipment is still continuing in SCEAsia (as of the end of February, 2016), and we have nothing to announce regarding the timing of termination.

"PS Store for PlayStation TV will continue to be accessible, and PlayStation TV-related information will continue to be updated. In terms of applications/service for PlayStation TV, we will make further communications to users as necessary."

PlayStation TV came to North America in October 2014 and Europe a month later and although it allows for the ability to stream PlayStation 4 games from one PS4 console in your home onto a separate television that the PlayStation TV is connected to, as well as supporting PlayStation Now, allowing users to stream PlayStation 3 titles to the device, it seems that this was still not enough to make it successful in this part of the world.

Do you have a PlayStation TV?

Quite a shame it didn't really take off. I found it to be pretty useful when having to be in a different room from my PS4 and not to mention being able to play Vita games like One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 on big screen. After the one-off payment for the PS TV it felt like playing the PS4 version of the game with only having the Vita copy.
