The latest Xbox One firmware is rolling out now

The latest Xbox One system update is rolling out now to Xbox One users, giving the option to buy Xbox 360 digital games for use on Xbox One backward compatibility.

Here's what to expect.

Purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games on Xbox One

- Fans have spent more than 30 million hours playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One and so it’s natural that being able to purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games on Xbox One ranks as one of your top requests. With this update, you’ll be able to do so! Find and purchase Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games the same way you would Xbox One titles and, once purchased, Xbox 360 Backward Compatible content will automatically download to your Xbox One and be ready to play!

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller improved thumbstick precision with firmware update

- We heard from fans that you wanted to see improvements to the behaviour of the thumbsticks on the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, particularly when you are moving the thumbsticks diagonally. Based on this feedback, we’ve created a new method to calculate the position of the thumbsticks consistently, enabling thumbstick response that is more in line with what you are expecting. This method measures and uses the distance of the thumbstick position relative to the center focus point of the thumbstick base, instead of the standard method, which calculates the measurement using a two-dimensional plane. With the latest firmware update, you can expect increased accuracy of the thumbsticks on your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller for even greater control.

Other features of the new system update include:

- Include Party Chat in Twitch broadcasts
- Output your Party Chat to headset and speakers simultaneously
- Customizable Game DVR recording length
- Track Achievement progress in the Xbox One guide
- Video playback directly in the Xbox One Activity Feed
- 16-person Party Chat
- Xbox 360 Achievements in Xbox One and Xbox app Activity Feeds
- Follow web links and YouTube videos from Game Hubs
- Compare your Avatars
- Reputation rating interface changes

30 million hours in BC games. So, looking on wiki, its been out 282 days so about 106,000 hours a day on Xbox one is used for playing Xbox 360 games. Either they have made that number up or people are clearly showing MS that they prefer the 360 games over the Xbox one games....

Or it could be that some people having paid a lot of money for their Xbox one can't afford to buy every new game yet at £50 or have completed them all so they are playing through their good 360 games which there are a lot of .. I'd love to play some I just can't get the time

I only played two backward titles one was Banjo kazooie and that was fine but gears of war judgement was terrible. May of been updated with a patch now but at Christmas I wasn't impressed at all with its performance.

I still use my Xbox 360 mainly than play on Xbox ONE, but have played Fallout 3 and Lego Batman for a little bit without issue. Games are a bit hit and miss but if there are issue they get fixed, I have seen reports that Halo Reach is ok now. Some games even play better than on Xbox 360. It is best to search internet see how they play before buying any.
