DiRT Rally is out now and both Joe and Dan have tried it out, with about the same level of success - not a lot.
On the bright side, if you don't try then you don't succeed and it's fair to say that DiRT Rally is a fairly unforgiving game, but then that's what you'd expect from a pure rally simulator. This game isn't for those who like to put the pedal to the floor and hope for the best. There's plenty of speed involved of course, but if you want to succeed then you'll need to listen to the instructions of your co-driver and learn all the lingo for each of the turns you'll need to tackle and once you do the game is very rewarding.
Whether you are playing one off races, taking part in career mode or heading online to take on other players, there's plenty to keep you occupied here and even better, there's plenty of cars to unlock too.
If you're the sort that loves to drive in different environments and challenge yourself with different driving conditions then you couldn't possibly ask for more, as you'll look in awe at the fantastic presentation and also be very satisfied with the various surfaces you'll drive on, with dirt, tarmac and icy roads all providing their own challenges.
It may take a while to master DiRT Rally, but once you do you'll likely want to keep playing for a long time. We love it.
