Gears of War 4 will receive free DLC maps, as well as new weapons and attacks.
The new weapons include the likes of the dropshot, which fires a drill above ground, falls towards the floor and explodes. There is also a new move known as Vault Kick. This lets you leap over cover without stopping to kick your opponent. Also new is the ability to pull enemies across cover and kill them in what is known as a 'Yank and Shank'.
Gears 4 also has new multiplayer modes such as Dodgeball, while there is even a new esports mode known as escalation, which is designed to be watched by others and even shoutcasted too.
Perhaps the biggest news is the new monthly free maps, which will be rotated, although the issue here is that you will need to purchase them if you want to play your favourites on a regular basis, although only the host needs to own said map, so that's good news.
We've not played ourselves yet, but hopefully we'll get in on the beta when it launches and bring you our own thoughts.
