The 25 Characters of Battleborn: Boldur

Battleborn is out on May 3rd and unlike most other games, it comes with 25 heroes for you to choose from. Since there are so many heroes we've decided to sum up each of their abilities in a separate article.

So which Badass are you?

Boldur

Boldur the Unbearable is a stubborn, axe-wielding native of Ekkunar who has survived the last two millennia of interruptions to his quiet forest life through sheer stubbornness and the aid of the civilian militia he leads called the Woodsworn. Tough as a gnarled root, the Ekkuni dwarf carries only a rune-forged axe and shield into battle against any foe who dares land their dropship in his front yard.

Abilities

RUNIC AXE:

Boldur deals slow, powerful melee strikes with his Runic Axe. When unarmed, Boldur falls back on hand-to-hand combat to take enemies down with 30% enhanced movement speed.

EKKUNI GREATSHIELD:

Though he lacks an energy shield, Boldur is an elite defender, utilizing his Eldrid greatshield to block incoming damage, and rapid health regeneration to stay in the fight. The ekkuni Greatshield can block up to 2000 incoming damage.

BOLDUR DASH:

Boldur dashes forward, dealing 133 damage and pushing back enemies on impact. RUNE POWER: Targets take an extra 25% damage, as well as 12 damage per second.

AXE TOSS:

Boldur throws his axe, dealing 200 damage. Retrieving the axe reduces its cooldown by -20%. RUNE POWER: Axe explodes on impact, dealing up to 300 dmage.

RUNE OF POWER:

Increases melee damage by +18% and converts 50% of damage blocked into health. Using Axe Toss or Boldurdash will consume the corresponding Rune.

RAGE:

Killing enemies causes Boldur to melee 20% faster and take 35% less damage for 8 seconds.

As you may know, Battleborn's accelerated character growth system allows players to level-up a character from 1 to 10 and fully experience each hero's unique weapons and powers in a single story mission or multiplayer match.

This means you'll be able to make use of Boldur's Helix abilities as you work your way through the levels.

Here's a quick look at Boldur in action.
