Sony to introduce 2-step verification feature for PlayStation

Sony seems to be working on two factor authentication for PS4, with many who downloaded yesterday’s PS3 firmware update 4.80 noticing that entering incorrect information, showed a two-factor authentication message pop up.

When asked about this new development, Sony responded by saying, "In order to further safeguard our users and their accounts, we are preparing to offer a 2-step verification feature. More details will be shared at a later date."

Two-step verification is already available for those with a Microsoft or Xbox Live account and Steam also includes this extra measure of security. It makes complete sense and no-one will complain about extra measures to safeguard their details from hackers.

We'll update you when we know more.
