Gamescom 2011 to be bigger than ever

This year’s Gamescom will be the biggest yet, with 20 per cent more publishers and platform holders pledging their support for the show.

“We are clearly on the road to success and are certain that Gamescom will greatly benefit all parties involved in 2011 too,” said Koelnmesse CEO Gerald Böse.

Big name publishers such as Nintendo, Ubisoft, EA, Warner Bros, Take-Two, Namco Bandai, Konami, Bethesda, Sega, Capcom and more have already signed up for this year’s show and you can bet Sony and Microsoft will be there in style.

“We are currently working at full steam on a trade fair exhibit that will excite all generations of gamers,” said Sega Germany’s head of marketing Henning Otto. “We look forward to reuniting with our fans from all across Europe in Cologne.”

Capcom’s Michael Auer added: “We are looking forward to being a significant part of Gamescom in this important and exceptionally strong year for us. We are now using the coming months to present our titles in an impressive way to an international community of excited video game fans in Europe as well.”

Gamescom 2011 will be held at Koelnmesse, Cologne and will run from August 17th to August 21st.

We will be bringing you as much coverage as we possibly can during the show.

Thanks, MCV.
