Devil's Third servers will close just one year after launch

Nintendo has announced that it is to it close down online services for Devil’s Third.

As of December 28 the game’s online multiplayer will be unavailable, although you can still play the single-player campaign.

“Thank you for your continued loyalty to Nintendo," the platform holder’s Support team said when announcing the news.

“We are deeply thankful for all the players who have enjoyed Devil’s Third online multiplayer service, and thank you for your understanding regarding this decision.”

Devil's Third originally launched on December 2016, so we reckon this must take the record for its short lifespan, although we guess no-one is playing, which is most likely the reason for Nintendo cutting the servers short.

The game will be reduced in price at least, costing £25 from this Thursday.

What do you think about this?

That's unfair; I purchased the game as I love some of the characters which aren't all that dissimilar to Konami's NEVERDEAD. What will happen when the NX has slumping sales?! Doesn't throw Nintendo into much of a good light!

@fear I have literally just picked this up cheap for £10 brand new sealed as well not loaded it up yet so dont know if its any good or not but 1 year server lifetime ? I think Nintendo have probably started the move onto the next gen now. Saying that there still is a Wii U version of Zelda coming out but I think its finally in its dying days. Barely use mine now but its gave me many hours enjoyment especially with the kids over last 3 years so no regrets buying one :-)
