No Man's Sky doesn't require PlayStation Plus

Sony has confirmed that No Man's Sky will not require PlayStation Plus.

Speaking to Game Informer, Sony said, "PS Plus won't be a requirement to play online, however you will need to [be] connected to the internet for your discoveries to register with the universal atlas."

No Man's Sky allows players to name planets and alien species they discover, apparently you are able to run into other players, although the chances that you will are very unlikely, which is probably why it has been described as a single player game by Hello Games.

No Man's Sky launches in the UK on August 10 on PS4 and a few days later on PC.

Are you still excited to play?

I'd expect it not to require Plus. It isn't a multiplayer game. Really don't see the hype around this game. Seems very bland in terms of what you actually do. Plus the inclusion of 'units' makes me think there will be micro transactions.

Never get why so many people seem to get stiffys about things needing gold or ps plus why would anyone own a console without having ps plus or gold is just weird to be honest. All your console should do without gold or ps plus is watch dvds or play SP Games nothing else

£40+ for a game that moves so slow. Time to find the paintbrushes and paint my walls ;)

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
