Telltale's Batman will have a form of multiplayer

Telltale Games' upcoming Batman series will have a form of multiplayer.

The feature is known as Crowd Play, with the host being given a URL where friends can go and login, which will see them added to the game.

There are two modes in Crowd Play, one where the host has complete control over decisions, but can see what percentage of spectators choose which options and another mode where the spectators vote on what they'd like to see happen, with the majority winning the day.

"A lot of us grew up playing with friends or family members crowded around one screen, going through the story and talking to the characters, with [everyone] pointing at certain objects or where to click or deciding what to say,” Telltale head of creative communications Job Stauffer told Inverse. “It's just something that we've kind always just done for fun.”

The mode will apparently support upwards of 2000 players, although due to latency issues it will likely not be able to be streamed.

Telltale's Batman series begins with Episode 1 on 2nd August on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC and mobile platforms.

I bet it will work in streamed - when in that mode it will probably pause the decision to allow time for everyone to vote rather than the usual 10 second choice time. This seems like they would rather people stream it than buy it though. Wonder if the 'voting' page will have adds attached or something to provide them revenue from people who just watch it rather than buy it now? if so then that's a sneaky way of getting revenue from watchers.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
