Sony sold 3.5 million PS4 consoles between April and June

Sony's latest financial results reveal that the company has sold more than 3.5 million PlayStation 4 consoles between April-June 2016, up 0.5 million up from one year ago.

The company revealed back in May that it had sold over 40 million consoles worldwide, so it's likely that figure has now been added to significantly, although it's not clear what the total stands at currently.

Sony was hoping to sell 16.5 million consoles between April 2016 and March 2017, so if the previous quarter is anything to go by then it is well on its way to doing so, especially with the busy Xmas period still to come.

The last console I owned was a Sega Dreamcast. Fast forward to Christmas 2017 where there's a PS4 with my name on. Bring on the yuletide pixel bashing! (children permitting)
