DriveClub VR officially announced for October 13 release

Update: Sony has confirmed what we already knew, that DriveClub VR will be released this year.

Sony Japan already confirmed that the game will come out on October 13, as seen below, however the SCEA has also confirmed that it'll hit the west this year too.

Driveclub VR will allow you to play in online multiplayer races and single-player career modes. You can also take part in drift and time trial challenges and you'll even get five new Urban locations and over 80 cars “recreated with immaculate detail.”

PlayStation VR arrives on October 13.

Original: Sony Japan has officially announced DriveClub VR for an October 13 release, the same release date as PlayStation VR.

According to the translation, during the game you'll see the action from a cockpit perspective, with realistic 3D sound and action that can be viewed from various angles.

The game also has a newly added city course which is unique to the VR version of DriveClub, although according to former Evolution Studios employee, Paul Rustchynsky, it's not the only new track.

There is a price listed of 4,900 yen for the game, which translates to around £35, so it's tough to know if you will need to buy an add-on if you own DriveClub already or if the game will be updated or even if it'll be a brand new purchase.

We'll no doubt find out soon.
