Oculus announces September 20 retail release for Rift

Oculus by Facebook has revealed that Rift is coming to retail* in Europe and Canada on 20th September.

Every Rift comes with VR platformer Lucky’s Tale, along with hundreds of free 3D 360 videos and VR movies, plus access to the expanding collection of made-for-VR games and experiences on the Oculus Store. The Oculus Store will support purchases in multiple currencies, including British Pound, Euro, CAD, AUD, and JPY.

When you pickup your Rift from a European or Canadian store, you’ll get a localised product with regional pricing and translated packaging, manuals, and software.

You can easily test your current PC with the compatibility tool and if you are unsure then there will also be demo experiences across Europe and Canada over the next several weeks. Demo titles include The Climb, VR film: Henry, the exotic planetary experience: Farlands, and what's described as "the perfect introduction to VR," Oculus Dreamdeck.

Oculus launches with the RRP of £549.

*Please note that Oculus Rift may not be stocked by ShopTo and this story is for your information only. If we are stocking then we'll update this story.
