Watch a video of the new PS4 Slim booting up

Digital Foundry has been quick off the mark to contact the person who bought the recently leaked PS4 Slim off Gumtree and have posted a video to confirm that it is indeed real.

Below you can watch a video of the new slim booting up and the tech experts will soon be bringing us even more information on the system, once they have a proper look at it and test it for performance improvements.

We'll find out more soon, but in the meantime here is the video.

Just seen this, Sony are gonna be mad haha. If that's true then the other report is true as well I guess, they have stopped producing the original ps4 as this is replacing it as the base model. I'm just hoping the neo isn't doing an 'iPhone 7' like this and scrapping the optical out port. I wonder if they are just going to put the neo in the original ps4 shells? Guess all will be revealed very soon

I just use my TV for optical out.

yeah but then your not getting the true DTS or Dolby HD signal as its going through the TV, downsampling then going back out isn't it? Optical direct from the console sends the signal direct to the Audio receiver (unless you TV handles it differently?) I have a Logitech remote and a HDMI switcher and a Optical switcher (both with ir remotes) so its programmed that if I want on the PS4 it changes the TV, switches the HDMI switches to the right channel and the Optical in as well. Have it programmed for each console/PC. Would be a lot easier if my TV outputted the audio exactly how it came in - no more Optical switch

Just read that some TV's do it, older ones don't - mine is about 6 years old next month so I don't think mine repeats the Dolby signal over Optical, seems to just downsample to Stereo from what I remember. I'll probably either invest in a new TV or a new Audio system with HDMI pass through in the new year instead if the Neo has scrapped it. My audio is about 12 years old now so its getting on - the remote had buttons to control the 360 with and the display panel looks like a mini-Xbox 360, its cute - was really good back in the day.
