Sony will not charge consumers for PS4 Pro patches

PS4 Pro is coming later this year and with it will be a load of patches which will allow your old games to make the most of it. The good news is, that despite the scaremongering that's going around, Sony has said that they "will not charge consumers for patches."

That's right, the patches will be free, as clarified after Kotaku mistranslated a statement from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Masayasu Ito. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't read everything you see on the internet, at least not until it's been confirmed.

The PS4 Pro is out worldwide beginning November 10 for £350.

Everyone knew this was bull - well, most people - anyone who watches gaming shows on youtube probably thought differently as they have all been going on about "OMG! SONYZ CHRGZ 4 UPDTEZ!!?!?!?!" as they do.... if anything the devs may get charged as they do for releasing patches, but there was talk that the first patch is free, so maybe they are going to let them do 1 patch to enable this for free and any others the devs get charged (as they should have tested the patch before releasing it)

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
