Call of Duty 3 the latest to join Xbox One Backwards compatible list

Update: Yet another game has joined the Xbox One backwards compatibility line-up this month, with the arrival of Call of Duty 3.

The game joins both Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops, which are also both backwards compatible. Whether you own the disc or digital copy, you can play the game on Xbox One.

So there we have it.

Original: Yet more titles have been added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list, with Bound by Flame, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown and the excellent The Maw, joining the list.

Already this month we've had ARKANOID Live, Bayonetta, de Blob 2, Of Orcs and Men, QIX++, Bejeweled 3, Deathspank T.O.V. and Gatling Gears.

In fact I turned on the Xbox One the other day, checked my library and discovered 100+ games waiting to download. Seems I was busy in my Xbox 360 days.

Expect this list to grow further as Microsoft aims to bring as many Xbox 360 games to Xbox One as it can.

Thanks for alerting us to it: just downloaded Virtua Fighter 5 FC onto my Xbox One S. Looks and plays marvellously ^0^!! Had hoped the port would be more snazzy as the KoF ports had been but, hey ho ...! So hoping a Virtua Fighter comes to Steam OS; that would be so cool of SEGA Nihongo ^0^ ^0^ ^0^!!

This is great news as it was great fun I loved COD 2 and have played it lots since it went BC. This will give me many hours of pleasure too.
