The Nintendo 3Ds has regained the top spot again in this week’s Japanese hardware chart, despite the PSP having by far and away the best selling game of the week.
According to the figures posted on NeoGAF, Nintendo’s 3DS sold 28,252 units last week, compared to 24,053 PSPs.
PlayStation 3 again came in third this week, selling 22,265 units, while the DS managed to shift 14,956. Bringing up the rear is the Wii with 8122 units sold, the Xbox 360 with 1898 and finally the PlayStation 2 with 1261.
Interestingly the best selling game of the week was Namco’s 2nd Super Robot Wars Z Hakai Volume, which sold a whopping 307,019 units, making it even more surprising that the 3DS outsold the PSP, considering Nintendo’s console on had two quite low selling (for the week) top ten games.
