Chart Track has revealed that the Xbox 360 version of Portal 2 was the UK’s best seller, with 54 percent of units coming from Microsoft’s machine.
The PlayStation 3 version, which was stated by developer Valve to be the best, accounted for 35 percent of overall sales, despite having cross-platform capability with Steam and it coming with a free PC version of the game.
It’s unknown if PSN’s downtime would have affected sales, however it’s more likely that the release of Mortal Kombat (with a Kratos exclusive character) and PS3 exclusive SOCOM 4 were the main reasons for the percentage gap, with gamers no doubt opting for these titles over Valve’s super puzzler.
The PC version accounted for 10 percent of sales, although the Steam version, which was released last Tuesday, is not included in these sales figures.
