Konami has said that there is no longer a “massive gap” between PES and FIFA, in fact the publisher thinks its a gap which is closing all the time.
Speaking recently to Strategy Informer, Konami UK general manager, Pete Stone said, while PES “may not outsell FIFA”, the progress is certainly “beginning to be noticed” by fans.
“I don’t think there’s a massive gap in terms of the playability. There are certain areas we need to improve, but it’s not a huge gap – and we’re gradually closing it.
“We may not outsell FIFA, but we can sell enough so that it’s good from our point of view. Don’t think of it as a battle where we’re trying to ‘win’, or outsell them, because that’s not necessarily the case.”
EA are currently releasing small teasers of FIFA 12 through magazines and the internet, while Konami is still to reveal any details of next years game.
Expect to hear lots more on both games at E3 next month.
