During Activision’s annual investor call, it was revealed that gamers have accumulated over 1.2 billion hours of gameplay time in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Activision also revealed that revenue for the first quarter of the year has reached $503 million, an significant increase from last year’s $381 million.
The first DLC pack for Black Ops, First Strike, was downloaded 1.4 million times in its first 24 hours on Xbox Live, setting a new record for XBL. The second downloadable pack, Escalation which was released on Xbox 360 last week, was also downloaded roughly 1.4 million times in its first 24 hours.
Escalation will be hitting PSN later this quarter.
Finally, Activision also stated that their revenue from DLC increased by $100 million year on year, although the company feels it has only “scratched the surface,” when it comes to the digital market.
