Retailers are suggesting that EA are planning to square Battlefield 3 up against Modern Warfare 3 this November, meaning both games could go on sale within days of each other.
Activision is used to stealing the limelight with its Call of Duty releases, however it seems EA’s strategy is to spend big and then release the game around the same time as the sucker punch.
“EA hasn’t been shy with Battlefield 3. It’s well known it will tackle CoD head-on,” a retail source told MCV. “We’re ready for them to arrive within days of each other.”
This wouldn’t be surprising really, after all EA CEO John Riccitiello already said the game will “take down” Activision’s mega seller in a marketing “offensive” costing over $100m between the two brands.
Exciting stuff, who are you betting on?
