Eurogamer are reporting that the Xbox 360 will be getting full stereoscopic 3D in the near future, with an E3 reveal being likely.
The 3D experience would be similar to that of the PS3, with “full-on HDMI 1.4 stereoscopic 3D in the 1280×1470 twin 720p framebuffer configuration.”
Technology speak aside, that means a 720p image per eye.
“Microsoft is going to have to go on stage to say something, aren’t they?” Eurogamer’s source said, when questioned about an E3 reveal.
If the Xbox 360 were to support 3D gaming, one of the PS3′s most boastful features, we could see some awesome stuff happen with the console’s exclusive franchises over the next few years. 3D Gears of War, anyone?
Microsoft’s E3 conference takes place on June 6 and we’ll bring you all the news as it comes.
