Nintendo of Europe has announced that the first major system update for the hand-held Nintendo 3DS will be available in Europe on 7th June.
3DS users will have access to an Internet browser and the Nintendo eShop, which will give them access to a variety of new content, including Pokédex 3D, an application that lets fans see Pokémon™ characters in 3D.
Games on offer at the opening of the e-store include Excitebike as a free download until July 7 for anyone who performs the system update and also new Virtual Console content including Game Boy games Super Mario Land, Alleyway and Tennis.
New content is added to the Nintendo eShop every Thursday.
The Nintendo eShop is a digital store which will include downloadable content and original 3D software, classic games re-mastered in 3D called 3D Classics, Game Boy and Game Boy Color games in their original 2D glory. Nintendo DSiWare will also be available.
To perform the recommended system update, Nintendo 3DS users can simply start the “System Settings” from the Home Menu, select “Other Settings” and scroll the page right to select “System Update.”
