During Konami’s Pre-E3 event, the firm announced that Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders will be getting HD collections, which will let you relive all of Snake’s adventures in glorious HD, on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
They’ve also released a trailer for Snake’s 3DS outing, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, which you can see below.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, the PSP hit, will be getting an HD re-release on the PS3.
The firm also released some new information about their brand new IP, NeverDead. The character that the player will control in the new action game, is immortal (as the title suggests). Bryce’s arms and legs will drop off in battle, but will grow back with time. Konami are using this feature as a ‘key’ to a new gameplay experiencen and gamers will be able to use lost limbs to their advantage by fighting in different ways as the protagonist deteriorates. They also released an E3 trailer for NeverDead, which is accompanied by an exclusive song from Megadeath.
In terms of Silent Hill, one of Konami’s most celebrated franchises, we got a look at a new trailer for Silent Hill: Downpour, which you can see below. We were also given the announcement of a Silent Hill HD Collection. No platform was given for the collection, although we were told that it will include Silent Hill 2 and 3. On top of this, Silent Hill will hit Sony’s NGP with an exclusive game, titled Silent Hill: Book of Memories.
Konami also showed us an extremely overlong clip, which lead to the team from Mega64 announcing Konami’s transfarring system, which will let you move your saves from platform to platform. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be the first compatible game and you will be able to move your saves, almost instantly, between your PSP/NGP and PS3, so you can swap between the platforms as you wish.
Kojima Productions are also working on a brand new engine, which will ‘pave the way’ for future gaming and will be supported by their upcoming, unannounced project (which will be multiplatform and transfarring enabled).
At the end of the event, Konami hid what appears to be a teaser for a new title in the Contra series. Expect to hear more about that, soon.
That’s it for Konami’s Pre-E3 event, but it’s definitely not the end of E3. We’ll be bringing you all the news from every conference, over the next week. You can catch up on all the E3 news easily, here.
