The leaks were true, we’re actually going to be able to play Modern Warfare this week! I'm actually beyond excited that we get to play this game several weeks earlier than we expected. Announced during the Gamescom First Night Live stream last night, Infinity Ward revealed that PlayStation will be getting an exclusive 2v2 Gunfight Alpha test event this coming weekend. Yes, it is a PlayStation exclusive which is very annoying for a large percentage of the player base who don’t have a PS4 and you have full right to be angry about it as I would be too. The Alpha is set to kick off at 6PM UK time this Friday (August 23rd) and will run through to 6PM on Sunday (August 25th). There will be a pre loading period which has not been announced yet but hopefully it will be several hours before hand so we can maximise our time with the Alpha, make sure to stay tuned to our Twitter for more information on pre loading when it is announced. As the name suggests, this Alpha is for the 2v2 Gunfight mode which will be playable across 5 specially designed maps, two of which we haven’t seen before. The map list for the Alpha is Speedball, King, Pine, Docks and Stack but expect a few surprises throughout the weekend as well. Check out the trailer for the event below:
