New Death Stranding Gameplay and Information Revealed
| 2019-09-12

As gamers around the world are still left questioning what exactly the game is about with just a few weeks to go until launch, Kojima Productions have released a huge chunk of gameplay from their upcoming title, Death Stranding. This huge new content drop aims to give us a good idea of what the game entails whilst also showing off more gameplay elements and those stunning visuals. PlayStation have also provided a handy breakdown of what we got to see and that can be found here. So then, the first thing of note is that we got a better look at the in-game menus, albeit in Japanese. The menus look solid and they also show Sam choosing his loadout for the mission ahead which includes suit upgrades and attachments for his arms. It appears that selecting the correct loadout and plotting a good route will be key to completing missions effectively. Along the way, Sam is seen to take a break and absorb the surrounding environment for a few minutes, showing that the Death Stranding is more of an experience than a regular game and that you don’t need to be in a hurry all the time. We also got a look at some transportation systems such as a hoverboard and a floating carrier which takes some of the weight off Sam’s shoulders. Perhaps the most important part of the video, is where we get to see Sam engage with BT’s which appear to be the main enemies within the game. This is our first proper look at combat and it looks pretty cool, I love the look and vibe of those BT’s! The game actually looks pretty dark at times and I really like that, especially when combined with the mystery surrounding the game. I think I finally understand what’s happening within the game and I’m actually really excited to experience it for myself later this year. Check out the demonstration below:
