The Outer Worlds is a game you may not have heard much about, but my word does it have a lot of potential. The game has been developed by Obsidian, the team behind the smash hit Fallout New Vegas and is set to release this Friday. The game looks very similar to Fallout however, this time around we will be exploring some interesting new locations! The overall plot is an interesting one which sees the player explore an alternate future with the goal of finding out what a handful of mega corporations have been doing on alien planets. If you’ve seen any of the trailers, the game looks extremely vibrant and bright which I guess is where it differentiates from Fallout. It still has that classic/futuristic vibe but as no nukes have dropped, the game looks a lot less post-apocalyptic than Bethesda’s title. It looks like we will encounter a huge number of strange creatures, beautiful locations and interesting weapons within the game, I’m just hoping it has the story to boot as I believe this really has the potential to be one of the best RPG’s we’ve had in years. If the story is great and gunplay is up to scratch, I can see myself spending a lot of time playing this over the next few months! Whilst I was busy writing this article, reviews started to go live and the game is currently sat at 86 on Metacritic after around 30 reviews, it looks like it really is the bee’s knees! So everything is looking positive for The Outer Worlds then and the best part is, we don’t have very long to wait as it launches for PS4, Xbox One and PC this Friday! I'm honestly so excited for both this, and Modern Warfare to drop on Friday, a solid weekend of gaming lays ahead! What do you think of The Outer Worlds so far?
