FIFA 20 New Volta Mode Details Revealed
| 2019-08-08

Just a day after our last set of FIFA news, we've now got some more information to get excited about and this time it centres on the games big new Volta mode. First of all, ill come straight out and say it, Volta looks a lot bigger than I initially thought. Todays news then basically gives us an overview of the entire mode. As there is so much info, I’m going to summarise the key points and leave a link to the full Pitch Notes article at the foot of the article so without any further ado, lets get straight into it! First up then we got a look at a gameplay trailer and a sneak peek at the story mode intro. Both trailers can be found below. Moving on we got more specific details about how we will be able to play Volta, there are no subs, injuries, offsides, cards and stamina which should all help to make the gameplay experience feel smooth and free flowing. As we already knew, there are 3v3 and 4v4 rush keeper, 4v4 and 5v5 with an actual keeper and then a full Futsal mode. Gameplay will be similar to FIFA street with plenty of flair and new skills, some of which look utterly insane and I can’t wait to get playing the ball off the walls! Player and ball movement will feel different to the core game and it looks really, really impressive! On the subject of visuals, there will be a load of customization options for your player that can be bought with Volta coins or earned via objectives.

Moving on to modes then we find that there are four core ways of playing Volta. Volta Kick Off does what it says on the tin and allows you to play single matches within the mode. Volta Story takes over from The Journey and allows you to create your own character, building your own team and travel the world playing Volta matches. This mode sounds banging and I’m really looking forward to playing it! Volta Tour is an online mode where you play against teams created by the community and sounds like Squad Battles. Upon beating the opponent, you will be able to recruit one of their players to your team, decent! Volta league is the Online Seasons style mode which sounds pretty straightforward. Progression features heavily within Volta and it uses a similar system to the one already available in Pro Clubs. Check out the trailers below:

There we have it then, a very brief summary of EA’s Pitch Notes article from today. Volta looks great and I’m looking forward to playing it on launch! I should also add that the pro-clubs style functionality will be coming to the mode but just not at launch so that’s something else to get excited for! Let me know your thoughts on Volta down in the comments below and check out the links at the foot of this article to read more and pre-order your copy of FIFA 20.
