One of the first huge releases of 2019 is here and it comes in the form of Kingdom Hearts 3! Fans have been waiting years for this title and from early reviews and impressions, its looking like it hasn’t disappointed! So then, being someone how hasn’t played a Kingdom Hearts before, how did I enjoy my first play session? You need to bear in mind that I had no idea what to expect and I also don’t know any of the previous story so it was always going to be a bit of an odd experience. Despite this though, I did still enjoy my time with it, keep reading to find out why and check out our live first play video below!

Literally all I knew about Kingdom Hearts was that its sort of a cross between Final Fantasy and Disney so armed with this knowledge, I wasted no time getting into the game. Gameplay is split up by numerous cutscenes and it seems as though you tend to spend more time watching than playing. Gameplay centres around combat and is fun and very fluid although I still haven’t mastered it yet, I look forward to chaining moves together though and I also plan on using some more magic as it seems to be very effective. The game looks great with a nice vibrant colour palette and a graphical style which looks modern but still pays homage to where the series began. Its hard to explain but it looks like and old PS Two game but with modern details, I actually really like it. The story seems to be promising and I’m sure it will be decent as I don’t think Disney have ever produced a bad story, I guess I just need to spend more time with it and maybe conduct a bit of research into previous stories. So far then, its looking decent in most areas and I look forward to playing more.
